About Radiology Week
Emory Radiology Week, #EmoryRadWeek23, celebrates the essential work and contributions to patient care of our frontline radiology staff. It coincides with National Radiologic Technology Week, an annual celebration recognizing the vital work of medical imaging and radiation therapy professionals in patient care and health care safety. The week includes International Day of Medical Physics on November 7, which honors the role medical physicists play in ensuring the highest quality medical imaging with the greatest safety. It also includes the International Day of Radiology on November 8, which commemorates the day in 1895 on which Wilhelm Roentgen discovered X-rays.
All week long we celebrate our medical imaging technologists for ultrasound, CT, PET, MR, nuclear medicine, radiography, mammography, bone densitometry, and interventional radiology who go above and beyond to deliver exceptional patient care every day.
We also celebrate the nurses, advanced practice providers, radiology assistants, radiology medical assistants, imaging workflow specialists and administrators, patient services associates, and others who provide excellence in patient care at Emory's clinics, hospitals, and specialty care centers across metropolitan Atlanta.
Get in the Spirit!
This year's celebration includes a series of themed days for expressing individual and team style. Emory Radiology team members are encouraged to dress according to the theme of the day and then snap photos we can share here, on social media, and on the Emory Healthcare intranet (available only to Emory Healthcare employees).
