About

The Emory University Medical Imaging Program’s chapter of the Lambda Nu Honor Society invites alumni, current students, clinical instructors, and faculty to join the Georgia Sigma Theta chapter. Lambda Nu (LN) is a national honor society for the radiologic and imaging sciences.

Its objectives are as follows:

  • Foster scholarship at the highest academic level;
  • Promote research and investigation in the radiologic and imaging sciences; and
  • Recognize exemplary scholarship.


Alumni Eligibility

  • Graduated with a 3.5 or higher GPA on a 4.0 scale; and
  • Evidence of professional commitment beyond minimum requirements of the program, including, but not limited to:
    • GPA higher than Chapter minimum.
    • Actively pursuing an independent research project.
    • Active membership in a professional organization, as evidenced by
      • Holding office or committee appointments;
      • Preparing for the presentation of a professional paper or poster; and/or
      • Preparing for competition in a Quiz-Bowl or other academic competitions.
    • Clinical‑based employment in a radiologic or imaging sciences field.

The cost is a one-time fee of $40.00 for alumni.



Student Eligibility

  • Professional course cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale after three full-time semesters (or equivalent) of a professional program;
  • Enrollment in a radiologic or imaging sciences program as a full-time student for at least one year or equivalent (part-time students are eligible after the fourth semester); and
  • Evidence of professional commitment beyond minimum requirements of the program, including, but not limited to the following:
    • GPA higher than Chapter minimum.
    • Actively pursuing an independent research project.
    • Active membership in a professional organization, as evidenced by
      • Holding office or committee appointments;
      • Preparing for a presentation of a professional paper or poster; and/or
      • Preparing for competition in a Quiz-Bowl or other academic competitions
    • Clinical‑based employment in a radiologic or imaging sciences field.

The cost is a one-time fee of $40.00 for students.



Program Clinical Instructors Eligibility

  • In good standing with the program as determined by JRCERT requirements.
  • Actively teaching at a clinical site of the institution (full-time, part-time, adjunct, or guest faculty).
  • A member of a state or local medical imaging society. Clinical instructors must submit a copy of their current membership card.

Faculty members are eligible for membership if they are actively teaching at Emory University (full-time, part-time, adjunct, or guest faculty).

The cost is a one-time fee of $50 for faculty and clinical instructors.
