About
The Interventional Radiology Independent Program is an ACGME-approved fellowship-equivalent program of up to two years. The program covers all procedural and clinical aspects of interventional radiology practice, including vascular surgery, transplant hepatology, surgical ICU, critical care/pulmonary ICU, medical oncology, and medical consultation services. Trainees participate in and perform a full range of interventional radiology care. Training includes clinics, procedures, pre- and post-procedure management, and patient care.
Daily teaching rounds and weekly interdepartmental conferences are held with vascular surgery, GI oncology, thoracic oncology, and transplant. There is a weekly didactic interventional conference, as well as a monthly interventional M & M and interesting case conference.
Opportunities for research projects are available with mentorship by some of the nation's leading scientific and translational investigators.
Faculty
The interventional radiology clinical faculty roster is highly diverse and includes both pioneers and newer interventionalists practicing a full spectrum of image-guided procedures. Faculty hail from around the world and have trained in the top programs, including at Emory.
Division and program leadership are dedicated to preparing trainees to become highly skilled providers and leaders who enjoy rewarding careers in private practice or academic medicine.
