Message from interim dean del Rio: Supporting our LGBTQ+ community
March 30, 2023 | As you are probably aware, Senate Bill 140 was signed into law last week. This law bans doctors from treating transgender people under 18 with hormone replacement therapy and most gender affirmation surgeries while criminalizing physicians who undertake these treatments. As a physician and public health advocate, I am deeply concerned about the impact this decision will have on Georgia's youth, their families and those who practice medicine in Georgia.
