Dear Colleagues:

I am pleased to announce that Beth Allen, CPA, MBA, CGMA, has been named Chief Financial Officer for the School of Medicine (SOM), effective Feb. 2, 2026. Beth will report to Pat McCabe, Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Emory Healthcare, while maintaining responsibility to me, and to SOM Chief Business Officer Farah Chapes. In this role, Beth will ensure financial sustainability, compliance, and alignment with university and health care financial goals across the School of Medicine’s tripartite mission of education, research, and clinical practice.

For the past two years, Beth has served as Vice President of Financial Operations and Corporate Controller for Emory Healthcare, where she led the centralization of the corporate controller’s office and implemented major process improvements that led to improved margins. She established the shared services financial structure, standardized financial models, enhanced reporting and reconciliation processes, and fostered organizational alignment.

Prior to joining Emory, Beth was the Vice President of Strategic Finance and Analytics at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) Health in Richmond, Virginia. She also served as director of finance and interim CFO at University of Virginia Physicians Group in Charlottesville, VA. Allen earned her Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Wesley College in Dover, Delaware, and her MBA from Virginia Commonwealth University.

With extensive experience spanning public accounting, higher education and health care, combined with deep expertise in strategic financial operations, Beth is exceptionally well-positioned for this role. Join me in welcoming Beth to the School of Medicine leadership team.

My best,

Sandra
