Dear colleagues,

As Faculty Recognitions Week comes to a close, I want to express my gratitude for the many ways our faculty contribute to our school's life and strength.

Academic medicine is built not only on discoveries and accomplishments, but also on the countless ways faculty invest in one another, our learners, our patients and our communities. Service and leadership can take many forms: mentoring a colleague, volunteering time, strengthening a program, supporting a team or simply stepping forward when others need help.

Today, we celebrate the recipients of the Hidden Gems, Distinguished Service and Lifetime Service and Leadership awards. These honors recognize faculty whose contributions may be behind the scenes, yet whose influence is felt throughout our school and well beyond.

Thank you to these honorees and to all our faculty for the time, energy and care you give to strengthening our school and serving others. Your service enriches our community and helps create an environment where our learners can grow, our colleagues can thrive and our patients and communities can benefit from the work we do together.

It is a privilege to serve with you. Thank you for all you do for the Emory School of Medicine.

With gratitude,

Sandra
