Emory Eye Center is proud to announce that six outstanding medical school graduates will be joining the Department of Ophthalmology in the fall of 2025, after completing their internship at the Emory School of Medicine. Announcement of the new class of residents was made February 6 - Match Day - by Jeremy K. Jones, MD, the director of Emory Eye Center's residency program. The six were selected from a field of almost 700 applicants.
“We are thrilled to be welcoming this group to our practice in 2025.” said Jones.
The six new residents are: Chelsea-Jane Arcalas, who earned her medical degree from the University of Florida, Gainesville Medical School; Rebika Khanal, who earned her medical degree from University of Kentucky College of Medicine; Reza Kianian who earned his medical degree from David Geffen School of Medicine at University of California, Los Angeles, Wasef Nijim from the Augusta University medical program, Cuneyt Ozkardes from Florida State University School of Medicine, and Carlin Zaprowski from Emory University School of Medicine.
Joining the Emory Eye Center this coming summer are the six residents who are now completing their internship year at the Emory School of Medicine: Daniel Adamkiewicz and Joanne Thomas, both graduates of Augusta University medical program, Megan LaRocca, a graduate of the University of California, Irvine medical program; Ramoncito Caleon a graduate of the Emory University medical program; Peter Kenny, a graduate of the Baylor School of Medicine medical program and Elizabeth Slaney, a graduate of the University of Florida, Gainesville medical program.
