We’re honored to have Dr. Higginbotham return to Emory Eye Center as faculty. A nationally recognized leader in ophthalmology, diversity, and academic medicine, she brings decades of experience from institutions like MIT, Harvard, Penn, and Morehouse.

Dr. Pardue explains the importance of eye research and the critical role of the National Eye Institute, the leading supporter of eye and vision research in the U.S.

Dr. Linjiang Lou has been awarded the prestigious Knights Templar Eye Foundation (KTEF) Career Starter Research Grant for 2025–2026. This grant supports early-career researchers conducting work that advances the understanding, prevention, and treatment of pediatric eye diseases and conditions. 

Daniel F. Martin, M.D., has joined the Emory Eye Center as vice chair of clinical affairs, effective Feb. 1. He returns to Emory after serving as chairman of the Cleveland Clinic Cole Eye Institute since December 2008. Prior to that, Martin was the Thomas M. Aaberg professor of ophthalmology and director of the Retina Service at Emory.
