Center for Humanizing Innovations in Medical Education (CHIME) is an education hub for faculty and staff educators within Emory University School of Medicine that consists of educational developers with expertise in curriculum, instruction, technology, assessment, evaluation, and data-driven decision making.
Goals
2026 CHIME Strategic Goals:
- Guide and support the infrastructure, systems, policies, and processes needed for educational activities (data systems, technology, governance) to increase operational effectiveness within and between programs and units.
- Guide and support program evaluation, continuous quality improvement (CQI), and student assessment through professional development, tools, and resources in evidence-based practices.
- Support the implementation of pedagogical approaches and curricular design for deep, transferable, and self-directed learning including but not limited to cognitive apprenticeship model (CAMTL), backwards design, metacognition, and change management through coaching, professional development, tools, and resources.
- Support the synergy of learning in our diverse programs by enhancing communication and collaboration, and improving culture within and between programs and units.
- Contribute to and support scholarship of teaching and learning (SoTL) or educational research for educators or staff.
