The 2019 Resident Retreat was a huge success. The annual event, held at Lake Lanier Resort this year, is designed as a fun team-building exercise that promotes fellowship while teaching our residents about Toxicology and Diversity. This year we had 57 residents attend!
The theme of the event this year was “Toxicology” and was hosted by Retreat MVP and Medical Toxicology Clerkship Director, Melissa Gittinger, DO.
Toxicology Amazing Race
ToxChopped
During the challenge, we displayed wildlife photos from PGY 1 Sam Sheikali. The resident teams tried to find a group of words that fit different toxic insects/animals. It definitely proved challenging! So much so that we let them use their phones.

Diversity Day
Diversity Day started with a screening of5B. We learned that by serving the underserved as we do at Grady, we contribute to this legacy of patient-centered care.
