The Global Health in Emergency Medicine Section (GHEMS) is Emory EM’s newest Section. The section is headed by faculty member Anna Yaffee, MD. She is excited to have numerous globally minded residents, faculty and APPs working towards our mission to build EM capacity and preparedness around the world through the development of sustainable, bilateral educational partnerships that promote the training of health care providers in EM.
The vision of the section is to be recognized as a leader in the field of global EM through the creation of long-lasting relationships and sustainable programs to strengthen EM education, research, and care throughout the world. In April 2019, the Global Health in Emergency Medicine Section will be celebrating Emory Global Health in EM Month.
