Kelly Kaysen
Overview
Dr. Kaysen received her medical degree from Emory University School of Medicine. She completed her residency in internal medicine at New York University School of Medicine and a fellowship in rheumatology at Emory University School of Medicine. She is currently an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Emory University Division of Rheumatology.
Dr. Kaysen is a passionate medical educator and is the Program Director for the Emory Rheumatology Fellowship Program. In addition to teaching the rheumatology fellows, she is the Subspecialty Education Lead and a Core Faculty member for the Emory University Department of Medicine. She has received multiple teaching awards including the 2022 Emory Department of Medicine Academy of Medical Educators Teach 12 Award and the 2023 best overall teacher for the rheumatology fellowship program.
Although she treats all rheumatologic conditions, her clinical interests include both rheumatoid arthritis and psoriatic arthritis. She also treats ankylosing spondylitis, systemic lupus erythematosus, gout, scleroderma, ANCA-associated vasculitis, and idiopathic inflammatory myositis. As a native Georgian, she is proud to serve and provide high-value care to her community. She believes in educating her patients to allow them to make informed decisions regarding their care.
