Whether you’re a new faculty member; in the early-to-mid stage of your career; or a senior faculty member; we have programming designed to enhance every stage of your career:

PATHS (Professional Advancement Tracks for Health Sciences)

Whether you are a clinical educator, clinical investigator, or research scientist, PATHS will guide you through additional learning opportunities to aid in your career progression. These guidelines detail suggested targeted accomplishments toward promotion within a specific time frame. Each PATH is divided by career year(s) into best practices and academic mission areas.

Leadership Programs

You have access to a variety of leadership programming at Emory – ranging from the practical advice offered through the SOM Professional Development Lecture Series to more structured courses such as the SOM Women’s Leadership Development Program and the Emory at Grady: Underrepresented in Medicine Professional Development Course. Through these offerings, you’ll acquire essential leadership knowledge and skills that will enable you to achieve your career goals as you progress and thrive as a successful leader in academic medicine.

FEED Conference (Faculty Education, Enrichment, and Development)

This half-day CME conference includes general-interest presentations as well as career-specific pathway sessions for clinician educators, clinical researchers, and basic scientists. Co-sponsored by the Department of Pediatrics.

Mid-Career Faculty Workshop

A two-part workshop series specifically designed to meet the professional development needs of mid-career faculty. Topics discussed during this workshop will include promotion and tenure, team building & leadership, conflict management, mentorship, and other topics important for mid-career success.
