Elizabeth Vaughan MD
Overview
E. Camille Vaughan, MD, MS serves as Professor and Division Director in the Emory University Department of Medicine, Division of Geriatrics and Gerontology. She graduated from the University of Tennessee (summa cum laude). She received her MD and MS (clinical research) degrees from Emory University. Dr. Vaughan completed her residency in internal medicine and geriatrics fellowship at Emory University and is board-certified in internal medicine and geriatric medicine. Dr. Vaughan currently serves as Atlanta Site Director of the Birmingham/Atlanta VA Geriatric Research Education and Clinical Center and Division Director for Geriatrics & Gerontology at Emory University. As a clinician-investigator, her research focuses on optimizing care for older adults with multiple chronic conditions with a focus on urinary symptom management in persons with Parkinson disease and interventions to promote safe prescribing for older adults seen in the Emergency Department. She receives funding from the VA, NIH, and AHRQ.
Dr. Vaughans clinical practice is based at the Atlanta VA Medical Center, the Emory Clinic at Decatur, and the Emory Parkinson Comprehensive Care Clinic.
Dr. Vaughan teaches students, residents, and fellows through various programs at the Emory University School of Medicine.

Research
Focus
- My research focus is to improve the management of lower urinary tract symptoms in older adults and specifically in adults with Parkinson disease. With my research team, I have demonstrated the feasibility and efficacy of pelvic floor muscle exercise-based behavioral therapy to treat urinary incontinence in older adults with Parkinson disease.
