Cecile Lahiri MD, MSc
Overview
Cecile Lahiri, MD, MSc, is an Associate Professor in the Division of Infectious Diseases at Emory University. She is a graduate of the University of North Carolina School of Medicine and completed her internal medicine residency, infectious diseases fellowship, and Master of Science in Clinical Research at Emory University.
Dr. Lahiri's research focuses on pharmacologic obstacles to eradication of HIV-1 from reservoir sites of the body, including the central nervous system, peripheral blood mononuclear cells, and the gut. She is a prior KL2 Mentored Clinical and Translational Research Scholar. Her current NIH/NIAID K23 Career Development Award uses integrated pharmacokinetic- viral dynamic modeling to investigate effect of antiretroviral drugs in reservoir compartments of HIV-infected men and women.
In addition, she is a co-investigator for the Emory Womens HIV Interagency Study (WIHS), a cohort designed to investigate the impact of HIV-1 infection of women in the United States. She has collaborated with researchers within the WIHS consortium on studies looking at human papillomavirus and HIV co-infection.
