Waymakers in Emergency Medicine, Promoting Wellness, Research, Distinction, and Professional Development (WEM-PWRDD) is a women-driven program that leverages innovative, structured strategies to strengthen community, support all departmental members, and elevate clinicians in Emergency Medicine.
WEM-PWRDD welcomes new residents, APPs, and faculty. By providing a structured pipeline and support network with six formal teaching/discussion modules for small groups, we hope that participants will gain a sense of empowerment and social support encouraging them to pursue more academic opportunities.
There is a large group annual social event, and assigned small groups meet twice per year, read articles in advance, and participate in small group discussions. Additionally, the subcommittee tracks where participants land if and when they leave Emory.
