Sixty years after he founded the Emory Eye Center's research division, Dr. Morton Waitzman and his wife, Aviva dropped by for a tour of the newly renovated Emory Eye Center lab recently. In addition to building the foundation of our iconic research program, Waitzman was on the original committee that helped plan the construction of the Clinic B building (where that research now takes place). Earlier this spring, Waitzman gifted Department of Ophthalmology Chair Dr. Allen Beck with the original blueprints for that project. Though he retired in 1991, Waitzman seamlessly slipped back into
