Lauryn McNally
Overview
Dr. Lauryn A McNally is a Generalist in our Gynecology/Obstetrics department. She works mainly out of Emory University Hospital but spends her time as well delivering babies at Emory Midtown.
Dr. McNally is originally from Long Island, NY where she attended medical school at the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine. During that time in medical school she completed a predoctoral academic fellowship in Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine (OMM) and received a Masters of Science (MS) in Neuromuscular Medicine. After finishing medical school she moved out to California to do her internship and residency training at Arrowhead Regional Medical Center in Southern California.
Once finishing her residency she moved to Philadelphia, PA and worked at a Southern New Jersey community hospital in private practice.
Since moving to Atlanta, Georgia; Emory has been a great fit for her. She realized that she was missing something in private practice and realized that education is something she truly enjoys. The idea to work with medical students and residents on a regular basis has really added to her career. She has become the site director for residency education at Emory main campus and participates in many resident board reviews and educational opportunities with the medical students as well.
As an Osteopathic physician, Dr. McNally was trained to treat the person as a whole and to the promote the body's natural tendency toward self-healing and health. By carrying on these principles everyday, Dr. McNally has been able to further enhance her Osteopathic skills and treatments. She has extra training in Osteopathic Manipulative Therapy (OMT) which works well in her pregnant patients with musculoskeletal complaints as well as in pelvic pain cases. This hands on approach really allows you to get closer to your patient and understand their ailments.
These principles can be applied to annual exams to problem visits to surgery with the tenets that the body is capable of self healing and health maintenance.
