Sahebi Saiyed
Overview
Dr. Saiyed is an associate professor in the Emory University Department of Medicine, Division of General Medicine and Geriatrics. She received her MD from Al-Ameen Medical College and her MPH from George Washington University/Western Kentucky University. Dr. Saiyed completed her residency in family medicine at the University of Alabama at Huntsville and geriatrics fellowship at the Emory University School of Medicine. Dr. Saiyed is board-certified in family medicine and geriatric medicine. Dr. Saiyed has a special interest in dementia care, polypharmacy, trauma-informed care, antibiotic stewardship programs and chronic disease management in a nursing home.
Dr. Saiyed has been recognized for her outstanding contributions with multiple accolades, including the Clinical Distinction as Senior Physician in 2018 and the Quality Achievement Award in 2019 for her leadership in antibiotic stewardship in nursing homes. She received Doctors' Day Recognition in 2019, 2022, and 2023 from the Emory University School of Medicine (EUSOM) and was named a Distinguished Physician by EUSOM in 2023. Dr. Saiyed has been honored as an Atlanta Magazine Top Doctor in 2022, 2023, and 2024, and received the Mentorship Award from EUSOMs Division of Geriatrics and Gerontology in 2022.
Dr. Saiyed is an active member of both the National PLATC and the State Chapter of PLATC, where she serves on the chapter's Board of Directors. In this role, she plays a pivotal part in shaping the chapter's strategic initiatives and enhancing its educational mission. Her leadership and commitment to continuing education have significantly contributed to the impact of the chapters programming, providing valuable resources and learning opportunities for her colleagues and peers in the field.
In her free time, Dr. Saiyed enjoys spending time with her family and watching Bollywood movies. She is also an active community volunteer, regularly offering health education sessions for senior citizens in her local area.
