Tyler is originally from Leominster, MA. He completed his undergraduate studies in Military History at Dartmouth College, then attended Emory for medical school, completing a combined MD/MPH, studying health policy at Rollins School of Public Health. While at Emory, Tyler volunteered as a crisis volunteer for Hands on Atlanta and served as the treasurer for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Interest Group. He also has been involved in research on modeling a cooperative relationship between law enforcement and psychiatric health providers to improve mental health services for mental health crises. In line with his focus on service and outreach, he received honors, including Emory’s EMPACT Outstanding Peer Mentor award and National Health Careers Opportunity Program Academy scholarship award.
