
Kaitlyn graduated from the University of Kentucky, where she received the Algernon Sydney Sullivan Medallion, awarded for exemplary service work. She also attended Southern Illinois University School of Medicine where she completed the combined Master of Public Health and Medical Doctor degree program. Kaitlyn was selected to Gold Humanism Honor Society and Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) Honor Medical Society, where she was elected as the AOA President. She was selected as a Robert Graham Center Visiting Scholar, participating in policy work and research in mental health and primary care. In medical school, she is a Health Equity Scholar and works with the Behavioral Health Workforce Center to address the workforce diversity of central Illinois. As a result of her commitment to public health in her community, she was awarded the 2025 Excellence in Public Health Award.
