While much attention has been paid to the child siblings of autistic people, very little is known about siblings as they grow into adulthood and develop new relationships and start planning or having children of their own. Our study seeks to better understand the influence of having an autistic sibling, and how those influences affect attitudes and decisions as adults. To accomplish this, we have partnered with researchers at UCLA to hold focus group discussions with siblings to learn more about their experiences and perspectives about autism and their families.
