John graduated from Georgetown University where he majored in Arabic and Italian with a minor Linguistics. After completing medical school at the Rush Medical College, John matched into an internal medicine residency at Carolinas HealthCare System Blue Ridge. During his residency, he was elected co-chair of the resident council and subsequently to a third-year Chief position. John expressed an interest in psychiatry early on in his residency and has decided to pursue training in both internal medicine and psychiatry. Upon completing his internal medicine residency, John will begin psychiatry as a PGY-2 at Emory. Outside of residency, John enjoys traveling, kayaking, and photography. He speaks five languages.

- Professional Interests: Consult liaison psychiatry, integrative care, telemedicine, procedures in psychiatry, global and rural medicine and nutrition
- Future Plans: Hopefully a combination of consult liaison psychiatry and primary care (inpatient hospital medicine or outpatient). Academic settings with learners and various levels fueling questions and discussion is exciting to me. I dream that the COVID-19 pandemic may drive innovative uses of technology to allow us to care for and treat patients where previously we saw barriers limiting access.
