As the son of an active duty Naval psychiatrist, Philip grew up on military bases between the U.S. and Asia. Philip completed his undergraduate degree at University of South Florida where he received a BS in biology and a BA in biochemistry. During college, Philip won national Mascot of the Year in 2013 entertaining and performing both locally and internationally at events as USF’s Rocky the Bull. Following college, Philip attended USF Health Morsani College of Medicine on an Air Force scholarship. In medical school, Philip found an interest in quality improvement. He worked with a health systems engineering group to analyze and reduce the length of stay at his hospital network’s largest emergency department. Philip also has an interest in wellness and was elected by faculty and students as a member of the Gold Humanism Honor Society for developing a process group educational elective to promote a more emotionally supportive class culture and to provide students with the skills to better cope with the stressors of medical education.

- Professional Interests: Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Military Psychiatry, Trauma, OCD and Psychodynamic Psychotherapy
