What drew you to the PA Profession?
Growing up in various parts of the United States, especially in rural areas, gave me firsthand insight into healthcare disparities and access challenges. I’ve always had a strong interest in the sciences, but it was during my time working in rural Kentucky that I discovered a passion for advocating for and educating patients. That commitment to service became even more personal when I reflect on my family’s experience in rural Idaho, where my brother spent time in the NICU. Looking back, it was the excellent group of PAs who helped bridge the gap in healthcare deficits as they not only provided high-quality clinical care for my brother, but also offered incredible comfort and reassurance to my parents during an overwhelming time. This blend of service, science, and patient-centered care is what truly inspires me.
