Through a unique collaboration with Rollins School of Public Health, qualifying PA students can earn a Master of Public Health. This PA-MPH dual degree equips graduates to manage patients in clinical, hospitals alike and lead community health initiatives anywhere in the world. The MPH provides essential skills for addressing public health challenges, assessing community health needs, developing education programs, conducting research, and teaching in health profession programs.
About the PA/MPH Dual Degree Program
The MPH gives an additional critical skill set to students interested in practicing medicine in a variety of clinical settings. Graduates are able to confidently assess the health needs of a community, dvelop health education programs, participate in clinical or community-based research, or join health profession training programs as teaching faculty members.
- Year 1 is spent in Rollins School of Public Health (32 credit hours)
- Year 2 and 3 are spent in the PA program (123 credit hours)
Students can apply their combined PA/MPH skills in such areas as:
- Population health
- Clinical research
- Health administration leadership
- Global healthcare
- Community health promotion
Admissions
Accepted dual-degree students initially enroll in the School of Public Health for one year and complete 32 semester hours of courses. Students must also complete a practicuum, a structured field experience of relevance to public health.
After completion of the fall and spring semesters of the MPH curriculum, dual degree students enter the PA program.
