Welcome to the Emory Physician Assistant Program
Our Commitment to Excellence
In addition to our outstanding academic and clinical opportunities, we are particularly proud of our program’s long-standing heritage of community service. Each year, our students travel to rural South Georgia where they care for the farmworkers who harvest our crops. Locally, they work in urban Atlanta clinics, providing for the uninsured.
Our location in the Emory University School of Medicine and the Department of Family and Preventive Medicine affords our students rich resources to draw upon, including lectures from nationally known experts in their respective fields and a diversity of clinical experiences. While true to our long history of preparing primary care providers, our curriculum provides a broad foundation in the medical and surgical disciplines for students who are interested in other areas as well. In addition to teaching the science and art of medicine, we are committed to helping our students become professionals who understand team-based practice, efficient learning, and advocating for patients. We train our students to become competent, confident practitioners.
Mission
The Emory Physician Assistant Program recruits educates and mentors a diverse group of students to become highly regarded physician assistants providing compassionate health care of the highest quality.
Values
We value the highest standards of professionalism and team-based medicine with a commitment to the medically underserved. Graduates are prepared to practice evidence-based primary care and preventive medicine and engage in lifelong learning.

The Path to Clinical Leadership: Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging
Emory PA Program is dedicated to cultivating a diverse and inclusive student body that reflects the complexity and richness of our society. Our mission is to nurture a learning environment where individuals from all backgrounds feel valued and supported. We embrace diversity in all its dimensions, including but not limited to race, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, age, ability, and life experiences. We believe that an intersectional and diverse student body enriches the educational experience for everyone involved and prepares our graduates to effectively serve the needs of all communities.
The Emory PA program seeks students who are curious, open-minded, humble, and eager to learn from others. Throughout our curriculum, we encourage students to engage in meaningful conversations, challenge assumptions, and broaden their perspectives through exposure to different backgrounds and viewpoints so that they may grow and enhance their ability to connect with future patients. By embracing the full spectrum of ourselves and others, we aim to equip future PAs to serve in all communities with competence, compassion, and humility. "
