The Emory Clinical Distinctions (CD) Program recognizes outstanding faculty in the Emory University School of Medicine who have devoted the majority of their careers to excellence in clinical care, patient outcomes, and clinical leadership. This prestigious designation honors faculty whose primary impact is through direct patient care and clinical administration.
The Clinical Distinctions Program at Emory School of Medicine is designed to complement, not replace, the traditional academic promotion pathway. Instead, it highlights the essential contributions of clinically focused faculty and ensures their work is formally recognized within the School of Medicine.
Regular faculty who have a minimum of 0.5 FTE and devote at least half their time to clinical efforts (patient care and clinical administration) are eligible for nomination.
Emory Clinical Distinctions are awarded at three progressive levels of achievement, Senior, Distinguished, and Eminent, each level reflecting increasing scope, impact, and sustained excellence in clinical practice.
