New Faculty Orientation
New Faculty Orientation is offered twice a year and is designed specifically for new SOM faculty to learn about the opportunities available in the SOM, network with colleagues and meet members of leadership as well as experts from Research Administration Services, Medical Education Office, IRB, and more during the breakout sessions.
Professional Development Lecture Series
The professional development lecture series offers workshops throughout the year presented by senior faculty within the School of Medicine and covers practical topics aimed at assisting faculty in their career development.
Transition to First Faculty Position
New faculty members are encouraged to participate in this half-day workshop designed to assist in the transition from trainee to faculty member.
Junior Faculty Development Course
This 11-session course for new faculty presents information necessary for success in an academic medical center using a variety of formats including didactic presentations, panel discussions, group and individual exercises, and case-based problem-solving.

Collaborative Learning Communities
The Collaborative Learning Communities provide a persistent, sustaining social network of individuals who share and develop knowledge, values and experiences focused on common areas of interest. Currently, there are communities in the areas of Education and Advocacy.
Preparing for Retirement
There are many considerations as you move into retirement, including decisions that need to be made around your finances, health insurance, and well-being. It’s also important to understand the rules related to retiring from Emory and potentially joining the Emeritus College.
