Twenty-five Emory Surgery Faculty Named to Atlanta Magazine's 2018 Top Doctors
JULY 2018
Forty-two percent of the physicians recognized in Atlanta magazine's July 2018 "Top Doctors" issue are Emory Healthcare physicians, Emory Healthcare Network physicians, Emory University School of Medicine faculty, and Emory medical staff physicians.
The annual listing—compiled by the New York-based research firm Castle Connolly Medical Ltd.—includes 25 faculty of the Emory Department of Surgery: Cletus Arciero, Kenneth Cardona, Michael Clark, Keith Delman, Thomas Dodson, Megan Durham, Yazan Duwayri, Seth Force, Robert Guyton, Peter H'Doubler, Kirk Kanter, Albert Losken, Raymond Lynch, Steven Macheers, Jeffrey Miller, Douglas Murphy, Kenneth Newell, Allan Pickens, J. Mark Rheudasil, Monica Rizzo, Charles Staley, John Sweeney, Collin Weber, Mark Wulkan, and Joseph Zarge.
This year, 329 Emory doctors out of 780 were included in the list, which is more than any other health system in Atlanta. Patients can find these doctors practicing at more than 200 Emory Healthcare provider locations.
Established in 2011, the Emory Healthcare Network is Emory's clinically integrated network for providing access to coordinated patient- and family-centered care. Throughout its hospitals and its more than 2,000 physicians in more than 70 specialties, the Emory Healthcare Network is a one-stop-shop for all health care needs.
To compile the annual "Top Doctors" list, Castle Connolly uses a survey and research process involving tens of thousands of top doctors across America and the medical leadership of leading hospitals. Atlanta magazine's "Top Doctors" are selected after peer nomination, extensive research, careful review and screening by Castle Connolly's doctor-directed research team. The magazine uses the research by Castle Connolly to provide detailed information about education, training, and special expertise of Atlanta doctors. Doctors do not and cannot pay to be selected and profiled as Castle Connolly "Top Doctors."
