Letter from PD:
The Advanced Pelvic Surgery fellowship at Emory University provides postgraduate obstetrician-gynecologists the opportunity to develop advanced surgical expertise working side-by-side with the department’s team of gynecologic oncologists. The division of gynecologic oncology performs a broad range of abdominal, vaginal, and minimally invasive gynecologic surgeries, including robotic procedures.
Fellows have a junior faculty appointment in the Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics and are expected to serve the University in areas of teaching, research, and clinical service appropriate to their professional training, capabilities, and their career goals. The fellow’s primary clinical responsibility would be participation in all the clinical activities of the division of gynecologic oncology. A number of former Advanced Pelvic Surgery fellows have successfully matched with gynecologic oncology fellowship programs.
Qualified candidates must have a terminal degree (MD or DO), have successfully completed a 4-year, ACGME-accredited Obstetrics and Gynecology residency program, and be board-eligible or board-certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
The Emory Advanced Pelvic Surgery fellowship is a one-year position. The program accepts up to four fellows each year.
