Dr. Ali graduated from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Science in Genetics and a minor in Spanish. She received her medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia, where she served in a student-facilitated clinic for uninsured and underinsured patients within the LGBTQ+ community. Dr. Ali is passionate about reproductive justice, health equity, and medical education. Outside of the hospital, she enjoys singing, traveling, quoting The Office, and spending time with friends and family!
Rebecca Garland Almquist, MD (She/Her/Hers)
Emory University School of Medicine
Dr. Almquist was born and raised in Charlotte, NC and graduated from Duke University with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. She then worked in clinical research for a year with the Genitourinary Oncology group at the Duke Cancer Institute. She earned her medical degree from Emory University School of Medicine, where she engaged in research aiming to better understand and reduce barriers to accessing infertility treatments. Her professional interests include access to assisted reproductive technologies, high risk obstetrics, family planning, and medical education. Outside of medicine, Dr. Almquist enjoys exploring Atlanta restaurants, taking Peloton classes, cooking with friends, and spending time with her family.
Isabella Ciuffetelli Alamo, MD (She/Her/Hers)
University of Texas Medical School at Houston
Dr. Ciuffetelli was born and raised in Caracas, Venezuela in an Italian-Venezuelan household. She earned her BA in Public Health Studies at Johns Hopkins University, where she was actively engaged with Baltimore’s Hispanic community as a Health Leads volunteer. After completing her undergraduate studies, Dr. Ciuffetelli worked as a health policy researcher and project manager at Mathematica in Washington DC. She earned her medical degree from McGovern Medical School at UT Houston, where she was part of the Longitudinal Integrated Clerkship Program.
Dr. Ciuffetellli is passionate about improving access to healthcare and addressing healthcare disparities among underserved communities, especially Hispanic immigrants. Her research interests include high-risk pregnancies, health systems, and quality improvement. In her free time, she enjoys Peloton cycling, traveling, making pasta with her family, cheering on the Houston Astros, and reading about current affairs.
Alexandra (Ali) Herweck, MD (She/Her/Hers)

Originally from Riverside, California, Dr. Herweck attended the University of San Diego where she earned her Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing with minors in biology and chemistry. Following her undergraduate education, she worked at Berkshire Hathaway in the Division of Workers’ Compensation before completing an integrated MD/MPH program at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. Her research and clinical interests have included preventive medicine, health equity, and global health. In her free time, you can find her outdoors, traveling to a new place, or trying new cuisine.
Taylore King, MD (She/Her/Hers)
University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center
Dr. King is originally from Southern California and earned a B.S. in Molecular and Cellular Biology from Johns Hopkins University while also competing on the swim team. She attended medical school at UT Southwestern where she was inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society and obtained an M.D. with Distinction in Global Health. As a medical student, she co-founded an interdisciplinary medical service trip to rural Guatemala, assisted in the creation of UT Southwestern’s curriculum addressing healthcare disparities, and served as the 2020 ACOG District XI Medical Student Representative. Her professional interests include global health, social determinants of health, advocacy, and women’s health education. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, rock climbing, hiking, swimming, and park excursions with her two dogs.
Priyanka Mehta, MD, MPH (She/Her/Hers)
University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center
Dr. Mehta was born and raised in Houston, Texas and graduated from Rice University with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. As a Rice-UT Public Health Scholar, she pursued an MPH in Epidemiology and Global Health from the University of Texas School of Public Health and managed a prenatal care program for patients with HIV. Dr. Mehta then received her MD from UT Southwestern Medical School, where she served as President of Medical Students for Choice. While in medical school, she also worked in Washington, DC as an Archer Graduate Fellow in Public Policy and conducted cervical cancer research in Botswana. She is especially passionate about addressing disparities in maternal health and expanding reproductive rights, both at home and abroad. Outside of the hospital, she enjoys singing, cooking, grocery shopping, practicing yoga, and spending time with friends and family.
Jessica Preslar, MD
Emory University School of Medicine
Dr. Preslar was born and raised on the coast of South Carolina. She received her Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience at Emory University with a minor in Global Health. She then went on to complete her MD and PhD (in Epidemiology) at Emory University. Her PhD research focused on measuring access to care in maternal and child mortality surveillance systems, and she lived in Sierra Leone for a year as part of this work. She is passionate about maternal outcomes, high risk obstetrics, global/rural health, and social and reproductive justice. Outside of the hospital she enjoys rock climbing, mountain biking, cycling, and spending time with her friends and her two pups.
Kelsey Roof, MD (She/Her/Hers)

Dr. Roof was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia. She received her Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from Georgia Tech. She went on to receive her medical degree from Emory University where she discovered her passion for LGBTQ+ reproductive advocacy and engaged in research evaluating risk factors for poor follow up for abnormal pap smears in pregnant women. Her professional interests include LGBTQ+ healthcare, infertility and medical education. In her spare time, she enjoys watching and playing soccer, eating street tacos and spending time outdoors.
Nelly Weledji, MD, MPH (She/Her/Hers)
University of North Carolina Chapel Hill
Dr. Weledji was born and raised in Kansas, the first daughter of two resilient Cameroonian immigrants. She received a Bachelor of Science degree with Honors in Neuroscience from Brown University and both her master's and medical degrees from the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill. As a medical student she was involved in research, the SNMA pipeline programs, and a hot-spotting initiative with the Refugee Community Partnership founded by one of her classmates. Her professional interest includes optimizing the health of pregnant patients, eliminating reproductive health disparities, global health, advocacy, & mentorship. She is a former collegiate athlete and member of the Cameroon National Basketball team, but she now spends her free time hanging with family and friends, watching anime, and eating good food.

Kerri Andre, MD (she/her/hers)

Dr. Andre was born in Destin, FL, and attended the University of Georgia (Go Dawgs!) before graduating from Emory University School of Medicine. While in medical school, she became interested in medical education and was involved in reproductive endocrinology and infertility health disparities research. Outside of medicine, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends and searching for the best gluten-free restaurants in Atlanta!
Gisel Bello, MD (she/her/hers)

Gisel Bello is a New York City native, the proud daughter of Dominican immigrant parents, and a first-generation undergraduate & medical graduate. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree with Honors in Biological Sciences from the University of Rhode Island and completed a post-baccalaureate in Biochemistry. She earned her medical degree from the Warren Alpert School of Medicine at Brown University.
As a medical student, Gisel devoted herself to supporting underrepresented medical students through leadership positions in the Student National Medical Association, the Latino Medical Student Association, and as the Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion Fellow for the Office of Diversity and Multicultural Affairs. Additionally, she volunteered for and led the student-run women’s clinic in Providence and created a longitudinal Reproductive Justice curriculum for the medical school.
Gisel is a member of the Gold Humanism Honor Society and the National Health Service Corps - a DHHS department focused on providing primary health care services in underserved communities.
She is passionate about reproductive justice, healthcare equity, mentoring, and global health. In her spare time, you can catch her doing yoga, basking in the sun, listening to Bad Bunny, trying new recipes, or recording episodes of her podcast.
Sara Brenner, MD (she/her/hers)

Dr. Brenner received her Bachelor of Science from the University of Florida in Biology. She then received her MD and MPH from the University of Miami. Her interests include family planning LGBTQ+ care, health care disparities and advocacy. In her free time, she enjoys running, spinning and spending time with friends and family.
Natalia Calzada Jorge (she/her/hers)
Emory University
Dr. Calzada was born and raised in Carolina, Puerto Rico, and graduated from the University of Puerto Rico, Rio Piedras Campus with a degree in Cellular Molecular Biology. She earned her medical degree from Emory University School of Medicine and in the process fell in love with the city of Atlanta. In medical school, Dr. Calzada led her Latino Medical Student Association chapter where she was actively involved with diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts in medical education. She was also clinic coordinator for Portal de Salud, led a group dedicated to giving a preventative health class curriculum to Spanish-speaking patients, and became a certified Spanish interpreter for the hospital setting. Her interests include effectively addressing health disparities, medical education, and protecting reproductive rights. Outside of the hospital, Dr. Calzada enjoys singing, dancing, and debating the best Italian restaurant in the city.
Tyler Gresham, MD, MS (she/her/hers)

Born and raised in Chicago, Il, Dr. Gresham earned a Bachelor of Science in Human Physiology from University of Iowa, a Master of Science in Medical Science from Hampton University with Summa Cum Laude distinction, and her medical degree from Michigan State University College of Human Medicine, where she was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. During medical school she held several leadership positions within the Student National Medical Association, on the chapter and regional level, and Co-Founded the Spartan Street Medicine Organization. After being accepted into the Medical Partners in Public Health Certificate Program, Dr. Gresham was afforded the opportunity to become a mentor for youth of incarcerated parents through the MADE Institute. Her clinical interests include health literacy and education, maternal health disparities and addressing the needs of communities that are frequently overlooked. Outside of the hospital, Dr. Gresham is a lover of all things surrounding dance and enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, singing in the bathroom, and indulging in different types of cuisine.
Lauren Holt, MD (she/her/hers)

Dr. Holt is originally from Tampa Florida, and received her bachelor of science in Health and Exercise Science with minors in Biology, Chemistry, and Health and Human Services from Wake Forest University. She then returned home to Tampa where she attended the University of South Florida, Morsani College of Medicine. Her clinical interests include general ob/gyn as well as high risk obstetrics and family planning. When she isn't in the hospital, she can likely be found spending time with her dog, horseback riding, or hiking.
Chad Richardson, MD, MEd (he/him/his)

Dr. Richardson was born and raised in Sumter, SC. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Science and Master of Education degree, both from Clemson University. While at Clemson, he was a member of the Clemson Tiger Football team. Prior to attending medical school, he served as Director of Health Professions Advising at Clemson University. As a medical student he served as a National Committee Chair for the Student National Medical Association, Student Body President, Admissions Committee member, and Co-Director of a URM pipeline MCAT Prep program. His professional interests include medical education, mentorship, high risk obstetric care, preventative care, health equity, and eliminating racial disparities. He spends his free time making others laugh, working out, singing/playing piano, and spending time with his wife Aaliyah and fur baby, Kobe. He is a proud member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc.

Dr. Roecker received her bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering from Duke University. She earned her medical degree from University of Virginia. Her clinical and research interests include supporting women though many phases of life, oncology, palliative care, improving surgical outcomes, and medical education. In her free time, she enjoys cooking and exploring new restaurants with friends, loudly cheering for Duke basketball, traveling whenever possible, and Sunday crosswords with coffee.
Kristin Swope, MD, MSPH (she/her/hers)

Dr. Swope received her Bachelor of Science in Biopsychology, Cognition, and Neuroscience with a minor in Gender and Health at the University of Michigan. She then went on to receive a medical degree and Master of Public Health at Loyola University Chicago, where she was inaugurated as a member of the Gold Humanism Honor Society. As a medical student, Dr. Swope was actively involved in The Student National Medical Association (SNMA) and served in leadership roles on the local, regional, and national levels. She was instrumental in implementing Centering Pregnancy at Loyola and is passionate about maternal health and reproductive justice. In her free time, Dr. Swope enjoys traveling, getting her nails done, painting, hanging out with friends, snowboarding, and exploring new hobbies.

Capricia Bell, MD (she/her/hers)

Dr. Bell received her Bachelor of Science degree from The Ohio State University. She then earned her medical degree from Wayne State University where she was inducted as a member of the Gold Humanism Honor Society and accepted as a National Health Service Corps Scholar. As a medical student she served as chapter president for the Black Medical Association/Student National Medical Association and co-founded a sub-curriculum under the Health Equity and Justice in Medicine curriculum at her school. Her professional interests include racial and ethnic health disparities, adolescent health education, medical education, and global health. In her free time, she finds joy in trying new restaurants, spending time outdoors, traveling, binge watching tv shows and spending time with friends and family.
Chloe Denham, MD (she/her/hers)

Dr. Denham grew up in Austin, Texas and received her Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Oklahoma. She attended the McGovern Medical School at the University of Texas at Houston, where she engaged in local and national advocacy for PCOS and maternal health disparities and worked to improve medical student clerkship education. Her professional interests include oncofertility, the effect of obesity on reproduction and obstetrical outcomes, and reproductive health policy. In her free time, Dr. Denham enjoys hot yoga, watching the latest TV shows, crossword puzzles, and exploring restaurants with her friends.
Brendan Gray, MD, MPH (he/him/his)

Dr. Gray is originally from Miami, Florida. He attended Amherst College, where he received a Bachelor of Arts in History. Before starting medical school, he served as a Peace Corps Health Extension Volunteer in rural Senegal. He earned his medical degree from Emory University, during which he also completed a Master of Public Health in Global Epidemiology. His interests include global women's health, environmental justice, and health equity. In his spare time, he enjoys playing basketball, discovering new music, cooking recipes from different cultures, and reading non-fiction.
Alexis R. Hernandez, MD, MPH

Born and raised in New Orleans and a proud second-generation Cuban-American, Dr. Hernandez received her BA from Colorado College and her MPH from Tulane. She served as a Maternal & Child Health Peace Corps volunteer in Guatemala before returning to New Orleans to work in immigration services and health navigation. She attended Louisiana State University School of Medicine, where she provided sexual health education to local high schoolers, sat on the Board of Luke’s House clinic, and completed an Albert Schweitzer fellowship providing contraception education to members of substance use disorder programs. Her interests include reproductive rights advocacy and gender-affirming care. In her free time, she loves hanging out with her husband and German Shepherd.
Kelly O’Sullivan, MD, (they/them/their)

Raised in Newtown, Connecticut, Dr. O'Sullivan attended the University of Connecticut for both their undergraduate degree and doctor of medicine. They have a Bachelor of Science in Molecular & Cell Biology with a minor in Ecology & Evolutionary Biology and completed a graduate certificate in Social Determinants of Health & Disparities alongside their medical degree. Their professional interests include quality improvement, inclusive care, and health equity. Outside of medicine, Dr. O'Sullivan is a dedicated plant parent who enjoys lounging with their two French bulldogs (Edgar and Maya), hiking, traveling, exploring the local food scene, and reading.

Ericka Scott, MD (She/Her/Hers)

Dr. Scott was born and raised in St. Louis, MO. She is a proud graduate of Xavier University of Louisiana, where she received a Bachelor of Science in Biology with honors. Her journey then led her to the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry, where she received her medical degree. She was inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society and earned several awards, including the Medical Society of New York Award for community service and the Dean Brenda Lee Award for leadership. Dr. Scott has always had a love for service and is dedicated to bridging the gaps that exist between minority communities and medicine. During medical school, she served as the president of the local chapter of the Student National Medical Association and was involved in the founding of a minority student-run clinic. She also spent time working with the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion office to form an anti-racism action plan for the medical center. Dr. Scott has a passion for advocacy, health equity, and mentorship. Originally from Clearwater, FL, Dr. Valletti attended the University of Florida, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology with minors in Spanish and nutritional sciences. She earned her medical degree from the Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine Virginia campus. She is passionate about reproductive justice and health equity. In her free time, she enjoys trying new restaurants, spending time with her two rescue pups and her family, and is a passionate Taylor Swift fan.

Alahni Becks, MD

Dr. Becks graduated from Tuskegee University, where she received her Bachelor of Science in Biology. She then went on to complete her medical degree at Morehouse School of Medicine in Atlanta, where she developed a passion for promoting health equity in medically underserved communities while volunteering for the institution’s free student-run clinic. Dr. Becks’ professional interests include black maternal morbidity and mortality, high-risk obstetrics, reproductive justice, and increasing maternal healthcare access to underserved communities. Outside of medicine, Dr. Becks enjoys spending time with her family and friends, playing with her dog, cooking, painting, and binge-watching The Office and Friends.
Irena Kuan, MD (she/her/hers)
St. Louis University School of Medicine
Dr. Kuan grew up in Cincinnati and Atlanta and attended Emory University, where she majored in Neuroscience and Behavioral Biology and minored in Music. She then went on to attend medical school at Saint Louis University School of Medicine, where she explored her interest in Women's Health and advocacy through work with a prenatal substance use treatment clinic. Her passion for working with the Asian community was also reinforced during her time helping to run the Chinese Clinic of St. Louis. She looks forward to the opportunities to defend reproductive justice and bring care to underserved communities at home and abroad during residency. She enjoys playing flute or piano, taking dance classes, going to Pure Barre, traveling, meal prepping, and maintaining her Duolingo streak when not in scrubs.
Saloni Kumar, MD

Dr. Kumar received her Bachelors of Science and Arts in Neuroscience from The University of Texas at Austin. After graduating, she worked at the NIH in Bethesda, Maryland as a research fellow and pursued her Masters in Biotechnology at Johns Hopkins University. She then received her medical degree from UT Houston, where she was inaugurated as a Gold Humanism Honor Society member. She is passionate about clinical research in high-risk obstetric care and improving surgical outcomes, as well as peer mentorship and medical education. She spends her free time taking dance classes, working out, experimenting with new meal ideas, making her friends laugh, and exploring brunch/coffee shops.
Thomas Luke, MD
Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans
Born and raised in the heart of Cajun country, Dr. Luke received his BS from Louisiana State University in microbiology. He earned his medical degree from Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans, during which he also completed a Master of Public Health in behavioral and community health sciences. As a medical student, he served as the Student Body President and LSU Board of Supervisors Student Representative. He also directed a week-long camp for children with disabilities, Camp Tiger, and founded an advocacy group for queer youth, We Demand More. His interests include gender-affirming care, reproductive advocacy, fertility medicine, and medical education. In his free time, he loves attending musical theatre performances, walking his three-legged dog, tipping a local drag queen, or preparing to be on Survivor in 10 years.
Emilie “Mia” Mathura, DO, MSPH (she/her/hers)

Dr. Mathura grew up in North Carolina in a mixed Guyanese-American family. She received her bachelor's degree from North Carolina State University in Human Biology. Following graduation, she worked with the National Institutes of Health as a postbac fellow in Estrogen Receptor Biology. She then completed medical schooling at Rocky Vista University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Parker, Colorado. During medical school, she also completed a Master's of Science in Public Health (MSPH) in the Department of Maternal and Child Health. Her professional interests include GYN surgery, epidemiology, and the intersection of health equity and health tech. In her free time, she performs as a salsa dancer, explores new recipes in the kitchen, and enjoys all things art.
Kayla Shine, MD (she/her/hers)

Dr. Shine is a native of Irmo, South Carolina, and received a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences from Clemson University. As a medical student, Dr. Shine served as the 2023 ACOG District IV Medical Student Representative, OB/GYN Interest Group president, and co-director of two pipeline programs for underrepresented students in medicine. She also served as a Period Pro under the Period Education Project (TM). As a period pro, she was instrumental in obtaining a community engagement grant for an inaugural three-year pilot program to provide education on menstrual health, sexual health, and safe relationships for underserved youth. Her passions include advocacy for menstrual health equity, reproductive justice, mentorship, and mitigating racial health disparities. In her free time, she enjoys listening to new podcasts, spending time with family and friends, traveling, and exploring new restaurants. She is a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
DeAshley Smith, MS, MD (She/Her/Hers)

Dr. Smith was born in Bartow, Florida, but spent her formative years in Georgia, ultimately calling Atlanta home. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in Chemistry from Georgia State University. While pursuing a Master of Science in Medical Science from Hampton University, she joined the United States Army Reserve, serving as a 1st Lieutenant in the Medical Service Corps. Dr. Smith received her medical degree from Howard University College of Medicine and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. During medical school, she served as the president of the Student National Medical Association as well as the community service chair for the Ob/Gyn Student Organization at Howard. Dr. Smith also founded the Caribbean Medical Student Association organization with the aim of addressing the distinct healthcare needs and cultural diversity of Caribbean countries. Her passions include addressing disparities in black maternal health, advocating for reproductive rights, global health, and mentorship. Outside the hospital, she enjoys traveling, baking, shopping, karaoking and spending time with family and friends.

Dr. Stonehill was born in Norwalk, CT, and attended Duke University, where she earned her degree in Evolutionary Anthropology and rowed for Duke Women's Rowing. After working for a year in her Evolutionary Anthropology lab, she moved to London to pursue her MPH from Imperial College London. Following graduate school, she worked for two years in global market access in Denmark and Panama before returning home to attend Duke University School of Medicine. Her clinical interests include LGBTQ+ health, pediatric and adolescent gynecology, and family planning. Outside of medicine, she loves rock climbing, finding good food, and watching Ru Paul's Drag Race with her partner and their cats (Beans and Tofu).
Clara Shu-ning Wang, MD (she/her/hers)

Dr. Wang grew up in the suburbs of Atlanta, Georgia. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Spanish as well as Medicine, Health, & Society from Vanderbilt University, where she volunteered as a medical interpreter. During her time in medical school at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, she directed a student-run free clinic for underserved patient populations. In addition to bridging language gaps in healthcare, her professional interests include postpartum pain management, reproductive rights advocacy, and infertility research. Outside the hospital, she is a big foodie who enjoys attending the symphony, traveling abroad, and spending quality time with loved ones.
