PGY 4

Laura DickmeyerLaura Dickmeyer, MD (She/Her/Hers)
Northwestern

Dr. Dickmeyer completed her undergraduate education at St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota. She majored in Chemistry and French and spent semesters abroad studying religion in Southeast Asia and neocolonialism in Senegal. After working on the Haiti cholera outbreak with the CDC's Enteric Diseases Laboratory Branch for one year, she continued her education at Northwestern Feinberg School of Medicine in Chicago, Illinois. Her research interests include family planning, health care policy, and advocacy. When away from the hospital she enjoys yoga, hiking, speaking French, and planning her next outdoor adventure.

Mina FarahzadMina Farahzad, MD, PhD
Medical College of Wisconsin 

Originally from Manitowoc, Wisconsin, Dr. Farahzad attended Northwestern University where she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in philosophy with a minor in global health. Mina then joined the Medical Scientist Training Program at the Medical College of Wisconsin to pursue both an MD and a PhD in Public & Community Health. Her dissertation focused on the role of motherhood and child custody loss among women who trade sex. Her clinical interests include global health, contraception, sexual trauma, and substance use. Outside of work Mina can be found playing volleyball, exploring new cuisines, enjoying science fiction/ fantasy, and playing with dogs.

Sherry HeSherry He, MD
University of Pittsburgh 

Dr. He attended Carnegie Mellon University where she received a bachelor of science degree in biological sciences. She spent a year prior to medical school as a CRTA post-bac at the National Health Institute studying the efficacy of certain drug combinations against triple-negative breast cancer. Dr. He earned her medical degree from University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. She studied the long-term outcomes of adjuvant pelvic intensity-modulated radiation therapy on endometrial cancer as her scholarly project in medical school, and continues to have interest in research related to endometrial cancer and ovarian cancer. Her long-term career interests include gynecologic oncology, although she is open to exploring all of the subspecialties first. In her free time, she enjoys rock-climbing both indoors and outdoors, exploring restaurants & breweries, yoga, and hiking.

Victoria JiangVictoria Jiang, MD (She/Her/Hers)
Wake Forest University 

Dr. Jiang received her Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and Biology from Emory University during which time she developed an interest in sexual health and women's advocacy. She went on to earn her medical degree from Wake Forest School of Medicine. During medical school, she was a Sexual Health Scholar through AMSA, which kick started her passion for LGBTQ and women's reproductive rights advocacy. She helped start the Safe Zone in Medicine training program to address LGBTQ-related health disparities and hopes to promote gender and sexuality-conscious care. Her research interests include contraceptive steroids, reproductive endocrinology, and medical education. In her free time, she enjoys taking portrait photography, international travel, and scuba diving. 

Sarah KellerhalsSarah Kellerhals, MD (She/Her/Hers)
University of Arizona 

Dr. Kellerhals received her Bachelor of Science degree in Human Biology from the University of California at San Diego, and continued working for UCSD after graduation studying the protein caveolin in its role in traumatic brain injury and myocardial ischemia. She then received her medical degree from the University of Arizona College of Medicine - Phoenix where she found her passion for OBGYN and women's health. She is a native Coloradan who loves the mountains and enjoys spending her free time outside. She also enjoys running, traveling and spending time with family and friends. 

Gopika krishnaGopika Krishna, MD (She/Her/Hers)
Brown University 

Dr. Krishna graduated from Brown University with a degree in Human Biology: Race & Gender. She stayed at Brown to earn her medical degree. During medical school, she served on the board of directors for Medical Students for Choice and completed research in breast cancer screening for transgender patients. She hopes to continue her passion for reproductive justice through her interests in family planning and health care for LGBTQ patients. In her free time, she enjoys cooking, singing a cappella, and learning new musical instruments.

Michelle PiconMichelle Picon, MD, MPH (She/Her/Hers)
University of Miami 

Dr. Picon was born in Puerto Rico and raised in Georgia. She studied Global Health and International Comparative Studies at Duke University, with an emphasis on Latin America. She then served a year with the Jesuit Volunteer Corps running a teen health clinic in Oakland, CA before completing an integrated MD/MPH program at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. During medical school, she staffed the student-run free health clinic and traveled to the Dominican Republic and Argentina for public health projects. She also received a Fulbright grant to complete a year of research with the Juanfe Foundation, a nonprofit in Cartagena, Colombia committed to improving the lives of adolescent mothers and their children. She is passionate about working with underserved Latino communities at home and abroad, health equity, and adolescent health. In her free time you can find her swimming, biking, running, salsa dancing, or traveling South America.

Lisa ShandleyLisa Shandley, MD, MSCR (She/Her/Hers)
Emory University

Dr. Shandley received her Bachelor of Arts from Northwestern University. She then went on to earn her medical degree and Master of Science in clinical research from Emory University. Her professional interests include oncofertility, global health, and medical education. She is a former collegiate boardercross racer, and now spends her free time hiking, exercising, playing softball, and spending time outdoors.

Danielle Martin VuncannonDanielle Vuncannon, MD (She/Her/Hers)
University of North Carolina

Dr. Vuncannon received her Bachelor of Science in Multidisciplinary Studies with a concentration in Neuroscience from East Carolina University in her hometown of Greenville, North Carolina. After completing her undergraduate degree, she moved to Chapel Hill, North Carolina, to earn her medical degree from the University of North Carolina School of Medicine. Her research and clinical interests have included medical education and patient advocacy through provider education. Outside of the hospital, she enjoys yoga, as well as spending time with her family and dog.

Laura DickmeyerJoey Bahng, MD (They/Them/Their)
Perelman SOM U of Penn

 Dr. Bahng received their Bachelor of Arts from NYU in Environmental Studies and Italian before completing a post-baccalaureate pre-medical program at Johns Hopkins University. They earned their medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine where they were leadership for the LGBT People in Medicine + Allies student group, the Gold Humanism Honor Society, and the Trauma Chaplain Shadowing program. Their medical interests include access to care for transgender patients, preterm labor/birth, and breast diseases. In their free time, Dr. Bahng is an avid cook/baker, a dancer with professional aspirations, and a video game enthusiast.

Bryan druyanBrian Druyan, MD
Lewis Katz SOM Temple

 Dr. Druyan received his undergraduate degree at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York. After completing his undergraduate studies, he returned home to New York to join the Clinical and Translational Science Center at Weill Cornell Medical College where he worked in clinical research. He later left New York for Philadelphia where he completed his post baccalaureate pre-medical studies and medical school at Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University. His clinical interests include exploring fertility options for transgender men and cardiovascular disease in pregnancy. In his spare time he enjoys studying languages, cycling, cooking, and exploring the city. 

hymanBrooke Hyman, MD (She/Her/Hers)
University of Maryland 

 Dr. Hyman received her Bachelor of Science degree in Nutritional Science from the University of Maryland, College Park. She then moved to Baltimore to earn her medical degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine. She is very excited to move to Atlanta! Outside of work, she loves to travel, hike, and spend time with her family and friends.

Emory University 

I received my bachelor of science in biology and psychology with a minor in Spanish from the University of Georgia. I then spent time in Charleston, SC doing transplant immunology research at the Medical University of South Carolina. I then came home to Atlanta, GA and received my medical degree from Emory University School of Medicine. My clinical interests include general ob/gyn and high risk obstetrics. Outside of medicine my interests include cheering on the Georgia bulldawgs, working out, exploring new restaurants and the beltline.
 

McDiehlRachel McDiehl, MD (She/Her/Hers)
Emory University

 Rachel McDiehl graduated from Occidental College with a major in Diplomacy and World Affairs and a minor in Music, and completed a post-baccalaureate premed program at Johns Hopkins. She worked as the patient care coordinator at a free clinic Baltimore before continue her studies at Emory University School of Medicine. During medical school, Dr. McDiehl moved to Kampala, Uganda as a research fellow, where she helped roll out an educational prenatal text messaging program, studied risk factors for stillbirth, and analyzed the relationship between contraceptions and breastfeeding. In her free time, she enjoys going to yoga and pilates, working on DIY projects at home, and hanging out in Grant Park with her family.

Gopika krishnaLauren Rouleau, MD, PhD (She/Her/Hers)
Sidney Kimmel Thomas Jefferson University

 Dr. Rouleau received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Biochemistry from Mount Holyoke College. She then spent 3 years working in the pharmaceutical industry before entering the combined MD,PhD program at Thomas Jefferson University. Her PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Pharmacology involved uncovering the mechanism of action of various chemotherapeutic combinations in the treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma, with a specific focus on mitochondria and oxidative stress. Her clinical interests include reproductive endocrinology and infertility and fertility preservation for cancer patients. Outside of medicine she enjoys cooking, gardening, biking, and spending time with her family. She is looking forward to exploring the Atlanta area with her husband and two young sons.

Michelle PiconNicole St. Omer Roy, MD (She/Her/Hers)
Boston University 

 Dr. St. Omer Roy graduated from Harvard University with an degree in chemistry. Before medical school, she worked for a health non-profit focused on ameliorating social determinants of health. She earned her medical degree at Boston University School of Medicine, where she served as a student board member for the advocacy training program, a 4-year longitudinal program that provides students with the knowledge and skills to serve as effective physician advocates. She is passionate about health equity and medical education.

Daniella SpielmanDaniella Spielman, MD (She/her/hers)
Rutgers University
 
Dr. Spielman was born and raised in New York City, spent her high school years in Nashville, and graduated from Washington University in St. Louis with a degree in Anthropology. She then earned her Master of Biomedical Science and her medical degree from Rutgers - Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in New Jersey, where she graduated with Distinction in Research. Her work focused on using ultrasound measured vaginal thickness to determine menopausal status. Dr. Spielman is interested in reproductive endocrinology, particularly polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). Outside of the hospital, she enjoys spending time with friends and family and dominating her family fantasy football league.  

Danielle Martin VuncannonAshley Williams, MD (She/Her/Hers)
MCG at Augusta

Dr. Williams received her Bachelor of Science from the University of Georgia with double majors in biology and health promotion. Before medical school, she worked as a community health advocate at a nonprofit organization in rural Alabama. Dr. Williams received her medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia, where she focused her extracurricular efforts in student-facilitated clinics for uninsured and under-insured patients. Her research and clinical interests include inequities in the healthcare system and access to care. Outside the hospital, she loves being outdoors in the Atlanta sunshine and cooking with friends and family.

Haben Debessai, MDHaben Debessai, MD (She/her/hers)
Michigan State University
 
Dr. Debessai received her Bachelor of Science in Biopsychology, Cognition, and Neuroscience with a minor in Gender and Health at the University of Michigan. Shortly following graduation, she began a year of volunteering as a CNA with AmeriCorp in the city of Chicago at a site called Misericordia. She then received her medical degree at Michigan State University College of Human Medicine and is a member of the Gold Humanism Honor Society. Her passions are in community involvement/activism, academic mentorship in medicine, healthcare in underserved populations, as well as women's health policy work. She is also interested in global health as it relates to maternal health and reproductive justice. She enjoys yoga, hiking, reading, and watching her favorite shows on Netflix with her friends and family in her spare time. 
 

Daniela Diego, MDDaniela Diego, MD (She/Her/Hers)
University of Miami
 
Originally from Miami, Dr. Diego received her BA in dance and psychology from Washington University in St. Louis. She returned to Miami to attend medical school at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine where she led projects focused on improving LGBTQ competency amongst medical students and physicians, as well as patient advocacy. In her free time, she enjoys breakfast food, baking, and spoiling her two cats, Mila and Ellie. 
 

Dr. Figueira

Stephanie Figueira, MD (She/Her/Hers)
Florida State University

Dr. Figueira was born in Belo Horizonte, Brazil and immigrated to Boca Raton, Florida at age twelve. She received her Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences from Florida State University where she spent two years in a lab studying the Epstein-Barr virus and DNA replication. She then remained in the city of Tallahassee, where she went on to receive her medical degree from the Florida State University College of Medicine (go Noles!). Her interests include reproductive biology, oncofertility, patient advocacy, and academic medicine. In her spare time, Dr. Figueira loves to hike, bike, travel, as well as exploring new restaurants, and spending time with her friends and family.
 

Dr. ForrestAlexandra Forrest, MD (She/Her/Hers)
Drexel University College of Medicine

Dr. Forrest graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a major in biology and a minor in psychology. She then went on to earn her medical degree from Drexel University College of Medicine. While in medical school, she engaged in clinical research related to infant mortality and Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis for HIV prevention. Her current interests lie in health disparities and medical education. In her free time, Dr. Forrest enjoys trying new restaurants (she is eager to find the best Mexican restaurant in Atlanta), reading, and working out.
 

Dr. GarrettGia Garrett, MD (She/Her/Hers)
George Washington University

Dr. Garrett graduated from Stanford University with a degree in Human Biology. Before medical school, she worked for a community and mental health nonprofit organization in rural Alabama. She earned her medical degree from George Washington University, where she worked with the ACOG Teen Pregnancy Prevention Project and the student-run free clinic for uninsured patients. Her research interests include racial and ethnic disparities in women’s health and HIV prevention. She is very excited to return home to Atlanta, and enjoys going to concerts, working out, and playing the violin in her free time. 
 

Alisha Kramer, MD, MScAlisha Kramer, MD, MSc (She/Her/Hers)
Emory University

Dr. Kramer was born and raised in Atlanta and graduated from Georgetown University with a Bachelor of Science in Biology of Global Health. She then worked as a Program Manager and Research Assistant in global health policy at the Center for Strategic and International Studies. She earned her medical degree from Emory University, as well as an MSc in health policy from the London School of Economics. Outside of the hospital, she loves to stay active, read, write, cook, and spend time with family and friends. 
 
 

Dr. OlatunjiDamilola Olatunji, MD, MS (She/Her/Hers)
Ohio State University

Dr. Olatunji was born in Nigeria but spent her middle and high school years in Atlanta, Georgia. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Brown University, a Master of Science degree in Physiology from Georgetown University, and her medical degree from The Ohio State University College of Medicine where she was inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society. As a medical student, Dr. Olatunji was actively involved in The Student National Medical Association and served in leadership roles on the chapter, regional, and national levels. Her interests include medical education, healthcare disparities and social determinants of health, and being a voice for those unheard and underserved.
 

Dr. UsmanovaNazokat Usmanova, MD (She/Her/Hers)
University of Florida

Dr. Usmanova was born in Tashkent, Uzbekistan and immigrated to Orlando, Florida at age ten. She received her Bachelors of Science in Biology and Psychology as well as her Medical Degree from the University of Florida. Go Gators! During her undergraduate years, she completed the Summer Medical and Dental Education Program for underrepresented minorities in healthcare and now serves as a peer mentor for high school and undergraduate students interested in the health professions. In medical school, she organized and co-led the student run medical mission trip to the Dominican Republic, served the local disadvantaged community through a medical student-staffed free health care clinic and completed research in adolescent gynecology. Her clinical interests include, preventing unwanted pregnancies in the adolescent population, adolescent use of contraception, high-risk obstetrics, and fetal intervention. Outside the hospital, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, especially over good food, dancing, traveling, and learning about different cultures.
 

Dr. Wentworth
Caroline Wentworth, MD, MPH (she/her/hers)
Washington University in St. Louis

Dr. Wentworth received her Bachelor’s in Science in Psychology from Yale University. She then attended Washington University in St. Louis, where she graduated with both her medical degree and her Master’s in Public Health in 2019. While in medical school, Dr. Wentworth served as chapter president for Medical Students for Choice, taught sex education at local public schools, and acted in and directed the campus musical. Her professional interests focus on the intersection between gynecology and public health, including family planning and gynecologic care for adolescents. In her free time, she enjoys cheering on the Washington Nationals, going to the theater, playing volleyball, and dancing bachata.
 

PGY 1

AbamCynthia Abam, MD,(She/Her/Hers)
Indiana University
 
Dr Abam was born in Cameroon, West Africa and immigrated to Anchorage Alaska at age 15. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Clinical Laboratory Science from the University of Alaska Anchorage. She then worked as a laboratory supervisor in clinical chemistry, microbiology and transfusion services at the Mayo clinic in Minnesota. She earned her medical degree from Indiana University School of Medicine (IUSM) where she was inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society, received the 2020 William M Plater Civic Medallion and completed a concurrent 2 year fellowship as a 2020 Area Health Education Center (AHEC) Scholar. As a medical student Dr. Abam was actively involved in the IUSM Student-run free clinic, the Student national medical Association, Indiana State medical Association and served in leadership roles at her local the chapters. Her interests include global health, social determinants of health, advocacy and healthcare disparities. Outside of the hospital, She enjoys spending time with family and friends, dancing, traveling, cooking, rock climbing, working out and doing yoga. 
 

AdvaniRaina Advani, MD, (She/Her/Hers)
University of Michigan
 
Dr. Advani was born and raised in Los Angeles, California and graduated from UC Berkeley with Bachelor of Arts degrees in Psychology and Sociology. While in college, she provided mental health counseling to undergraduate students and focused on expanding mental health resources for her community. She then moved to New York to pursue the post-baccalaureate pre-medical program at Columbia University before matriculating to medical school at the University of Michigan. While in medical school, Dr. Advani led a mentorship program for high school students from underrepresented backgrounds and was an advocate for diversity in medicine. She also pursued research in adolescent contraceptive uptake, perinatal depression, and contraceptive counseling in Africa. Her clinical and research interests include high risk obstetrics, adolescent gynecology, perinatal mental health, patient safety/quality improvement, and medical education. Outside of the hospital, she loves to travel, spend time with family and friends, explore food scenes, dance, attend concerts, and take spin and Pilates classes! 
 

Dr. Bosch

Allison Bosch, MD, (She/Her/Hers)
University of Virginia School of Medicine

Dr. Bosch received her Bachelor of Arts in History from Dartmouth College before completing a pre-medical post-baccalaureate program at Johns Hopkins University. After working in clinical research for a year at the Sickle Cell Center for Adults at Hopkins, she returned to her home state to attend medical school at the University of Virginia. Her clinical interests include high-risk obstetrics, narrative medicine, family planning, and trauma-informed care. In her spare time, she loves running, reading, traveling, and trying spicy food.
 

Dr. ChadaAnisha Chada, MD, (She/Her/Hers)
Virginia Tech Carilion

Originally from Minneapolis, Dr. Chada received her Bachelor of Arts in Biology from St. Olaf College. She then earned her medical degree from Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine where she engaged in translational research related to vascular remodeling in preeclampsia and was active in medical student government. Her professional interests include expanding access and knowledge about contraceptive options, family planning and medical education. Outside the hospital, she loves to travel, spend time with friends and family over food, and hang out with her dog, Luna.
 

Dr. ChuEmily Chu, MD (She/Her/Hers)
Keck School of Medicine – University of Southern California

Dr. Chu graduated from Cornell University with a Bachelor of Arts in Biology & Society and a minor in Global Health. She went on to earn her medical degree from the Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California, where she developed interventions to reduce pap smear insufficiency in a primary care clinic. During medical school, she also served on student government and as a member of the Admissions Committee. In her free time, she enjoys heated yoga, watching movies, and exploring new restaurants. 
 

Dr. GaoJoanna Gao, MD (She/Her/Hers)
Weill Cornell Medicine

Dr. Gao was born and raised in New York City. She received her Bachelor of Science in Human Biology, Health, and Society from Cornell University. She then received her medical degree from Weill Cornell Medicine. Her passions include patient advocacy work, medical education, and public health. Outside of the hospital, she enjoys running, DIY projects, and visiting museums. 
 
 

Dr. PoliektovNatalie Poliektov, DO (She/Her/Hers)
Rocky Vista University College of Osteopathic Medicine

Dr. Poliektov received her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Colorado Boulder in Integrative Physiology and Biochemistry. She also completed a Master of Science at the University of Colorado Boulder in Integrative Physiology where she studied interventions to prevent the onset of age-related cardiovascular disease. Dr. Poliektov earned her medical degree from Rocky Vista University College of Osteopathic Medicine and graduated with Honors. Her interests include medical education and high-risk obstetrics. Outside of the hospital, she enjoys spending time with her two children, husband, and dog; trying new restaurants; and exploring the outdoors.
 

Dr. ReedCaroline Reed, MD (She/Her/Hers)
Emory University

Dr. Reed completed her undergraduate education at the University of Virginia, where she studied history and biology. She remained in Charlottesville after graduation and was involved in research studying cancer immunology and immunotherapy. She moved back to her hometown of Atlanta to complete medical school at Emory University. Her professional interests include the intersection of psychiatry and obstetrics, infertility, and medical education. Outside of the hospital, she enjoys catching up on Netflix, exploring new restaurants with family and friends, and traveling to oyster farms around the country.
 

Dr. Trautner
Emily Trautner, MD (she/her/hers)
Emory University

Dr. Trautner born and raised in California but wandered over the east coast to complete her BA in Economics at Princeton where she also competed in swimming. She then spent three years working in Uganda and Kenya in development and global health. She attended medical school at Emory during which she also completed a Master's of Science in Health Policy at the London School of Economics and London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. Outside of work, she enjoys her daily bike commute despite sub-optimal Atlanta bike lanes, dancing to Afrobeats, jazz night at the High Museum, and amazing BBQ (and any food).
