Our Emory gynecology and obstetrics residents participate in patient care at a variety of clinical sites, which provide one of the most vital assets of our program - a large and varied patient population.
The Grady Health System[Grady Memorial Hospital - a two-county, public facility] provides quality, comprehensive healthcare in a compassionate, culturally competent, ethical, and fiscally responsible manner. Grady maintains its commitment to the underserved of Fulton and DeKalb counties, while also providing care for residents of Atlanta and Georgia and serving as the only level I trauma center within 100 miles of metro Atlanta. Grady leads through its clinical excellence, innovative research, and progressive medical education and training. Twenty-five percent of all doctors practicing medicine in Georgia received some or all of their training at Grady.
Opened in 1892, Grady continually improved the health of the community. Grady now provides primary care services at eight Neighborhood Health Centers. Other service centers include a Diabetes Center, Georgia Cancer Center for Excellence, and the Avon Foundation Breast Health Center. Grady is also a Regional Perinatal Center and houses Georgia's Poison Center, and 24-hour Rape Crisis and Advice Nurse lines. The Infectious Disease Program was named one of the top three HIV/AIDS outpatient clinics in the country. Residents learn obstetrical care, gynecology surgery, and gynecology oncology at this clinical site.
Emory University Hospital (EUH) Emory University Hospital (EUH) is a quaternary care hospital and a major referral center throughout the Southeast. Staffed exclusively by Emory medical faculty who are also members of The Emory Clinic - the faculty practice -the hospital is renowned as one of the nation's leaders in cardiology and cardiac surgery, oncology, transplantation, and the neurosciences. More than 24,000 inpatients and 80,000 outpatients from around the world receive highly specialized medical and surgical treatment annually. Our residents care for benign gynecology, gynecologic oncology and urogynecology patients at EUHboth in-patient and out-patient clinics.
Emory University Hospital Midtown (EUHM)- Emory University Hospital Midtown (EUHM) -a regional referral center -is a 511-bed acute care teaching hospital in midtown Atlanta. More than 1,000 private-practice and Emory Clinic physicians practice in 28 specialties. Founded in 1908 as the Davis-Fischer Sanatorium, the hospital moved to its present location in 1911 and renamed Crawford Long Hospital in 1931. The hospital's name changed again in 2009 to reflect Emory University's leadership.
The hospital offers a full range of gynecology and obstetric services. The birthing center includes 18labor and delivery rooms, 51mother-baby suites, and a Level III neonatal intensive care nursery. This hospital is one of the few in the region to be designated as a Baby-Friendly hospital in 2015 and was reaccredited in 2020.EUHM provides a full complement of gynecologic and obstetrics services including MFM, REI, Family Planning, FPMRS, Gynecologic Oncology and Benign Gynecology.
Emory Saint Joseph's Hospital - Emory Saint Joseph's Hospital -Founded by the Sisters of Mercy in 1880, Emory Saint Joseph’s Hospital is Atlanta's longest-serving hospital. Saint Joseph’s cardiovascular programs handle one of the highest case volumes in the nation, and the hospital is one of only a small number nationwide designated by the National Cancer Institute as a grantee hospital of the Community Clinical Oncology Program. With a state-of-the-art facility, innovative technology, and a commitment to compassion and clinical excellence, Emory Saint Joseph's Hospital provides the full spectrum of comprehensive patient care. A commitment to the community, deeply rooted in its history, is continued to this day. Our residents perform office gynecology procedures and gynecology, urogynecology, and gynecologic oncology surgery and participate in the menopause clinic.
