We are thrilled to announce the appointment of Dr. Carrie Cwiak as Vice Chair of Quality for the Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics at Emory University. Dr. Cwiak brings a wealth of expertise and leadership cultivated through her extensive involvement in divisional and system operations within our department.
Dr. Cwiak has held pivotal roles as Division Director and Fellowship Director for Complex Family Planning since 2007. She will continue to serve as the Chief of Service for Obstetrics and Gynecology at Emory University Hospital Midtown, a role she has held since 2015, and Service Line Chief for Inpatient Women's Health and Maternity Services for Emory Healthcare, a role she has held since 2020. She embodies a depth of experience and commitment to elevating women's health services. Her leadership extends beyond Emory, encompassing significant roles in external women's health centers and contributing extensively to the broader healthcare landscape.
As Vice Chair of Quality, Dr. Cwiak will collaborate closely with the Department Chair and Administrator, spearheading oversight, coordination, and leadership for quality initiatives across all clinical sites. Her mandate includes establishing strategic quality goals aligned with national programs by harnessing her familiarity with performance targets and the department's existing performance landscape. Dr. Cwiak will optimize performance measures, aligning them with the priorities of Emory Healthcare, Grady Health System, and VA operations within our department.
