Why Emory EM?
Emory's commitment to the county mission of helping marginalized communities really resonated with me. I always knew I wanted to work at a safety net hospital and I'm so privileged to have the opportunity to learn from my patients at Grady. Residency is also undeniably a very challenging 3 years. I could tell that Emory EM residents still have fun and the program leadership is very invested in our well-being so choosing this program was a no-brainer for me!
Interest within EM?
Health Equity, Social Emergency Medicine, Health Policy
5- year plan
Not sure what I'm doing 5 days from now, but hopefully in 5 years I'll be an attending and practicing in a big urban city helping marginalized communities. I definitely also plan to get a dog as soon as I can handle one. And, I want to be traveling the world as much as possible.
What would you be doing if you weren’t in Emergency Medicine?
I'd be full time on Rover just taking care dogs all day every day :)
Fun Fact
I've bungee jumped off of Victoria Falls, the largest waterfall in the world!
What would your superpower be?
1. Teleportation because I love traveling to other countries and I hate sitting in traffic. 2. Talk to animals - I talk to dogs a lot anyway so I'd love to actually understand what they're saying and thinking.
