Why Emory EM?
If you take the best people and add an amazing city and a training experience that combines county with community and academic, you get Emory Emergency Medicine. When I was on the interview trail, the people I met at Emory immediately made me feel at home, and I felt that I had found my people. On top of that, the training at Emory is really second to none: a rigorous 3-year training program with everything I could ask for, many opportunities to grow, and leadership I felt would support me daily. Most importantly, I chose Emory for the patients that Emory EM serves. Grady is a very unique hospital that will allow me to care for the people who need the most, but unfortunately have the least. Emory Midtown hospital will allow me to become an efficient and more refined emergency physician. Emory University Hospital will allow me to learn to care for the extremely medically complex patient. CHOA will ensure that I can take care of any pediatric patient that walks through the door of my department. Finally, I love the city of Atlanta with its amazing cultural and social experiences, and not to mention amazing food!

5- year plan
I love teaching and have had different teaching positions in my life, both before and during medical school. In my future, I really want to be involved with medical education through any capacity. Right now, I am not sure if I want to be more on the GME or UME side, but I would love to find a hybrid position where I can be involved with both. My medical school classmates voted me Most Likely to be a Medical School Dean, so I guess I have to live up to that!
What would you be doing if you weren’t in Emergency Medicine?
If I was not in EM, I would most likely be a high school English teacher. I love to teach, and I truly credit my high school English teachers with molding me into the person I am today. Through their mentorship, I grew into a better person. Plus, I like challenging myself, and I think that is something that EM physicians and high school english teachers have in common.Fun Fact
As a child, I was a children's radio talk show host in the Los Angeles area! We would play games and talk about tv shows/movies/books, and I remember giving advice to other kids, like always start your day with a good breakfast (a piece of advice I myself should follow more closely).
