Overview
The Division of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery at Grady Memorial Hospital delivers comprehensive care for patients with a wide range of vascular conditions, including lower extremity arterial disease, aortic aneurysms, cerebrovascular disease, and dialysis access needs. The team employs advanced open and endovascular techniques alongside non-invasive vascular testing to provide cutting-edge treatment.
The division is led by Dr. Manuel Garcia-Toca, who oversees the clinical and academic activities of the service. The program serves as a vital training ground for residents from Emory University and Morehouse School of Medicine, including trainees in vascular surgery, general surgery, interventional radiology, and trauma surgery.
The multidisciplinary team includes Dr. Ravi Rajani, Dr. Jaime Benarroch-Gampel, Dr. Chivakula, and Dr. Christopher Ramos all of whom bring specialized expertise to the program in advanced open and endovascular interventions including aortic surgery for aneurysmal, dissection and occlusive disease, cerebrovascular disease, mesenteric ischemia, thoracic outlet syndrome, dialysis access, peripheral arterial disease, and venous pathology.
In addition to supporting Grady's Level I trauma center with vascular trauma care, the division operates a robust clinic within the hospital's cardiovascular center, dedicated to the management of vascular disease in an underserved population.
