The mission of the Emory University School of Medicine Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences Faculty Development Committee is to empower faculty at every career stage - junior, mid-career and senior - to achieve excellence in teaching, service and scholarship. We are committed to fostering career fulfillment; advancing work-life integration and faculty well-being; and cultivating an inclusive, collaborative and engaged faculty community across the department.
The goals of the Faculty Development Committee are to:
- Ensure every new faculty member is seamlessly oriented and fully integrated into the department
- Deliver innovative faculty development programs, services and resources that elevate effectiveness, spark creativity, and advance professional growth
- Lead and strengthen a robust mentoring program that fosters meaningful, sustained career development
- Showcase and amplify the achievements, leadership and impact of our faculty across the department and beyond
- Oversee a dynamic faculty awards program that recognizes excellence and celebrates outstanding contributions
- Champion and support faculty through each stage of the promotion process to promote advancement and success
- Enhance faculty morale, community connection, and sense of belonging, promoting a thriving and inclusive departmental culture
