Program Overview

The residency of the Emory Department of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery is ACGME-accredited and matches four applicants per year. All of the subspecialties are represented in the department, including head and neck surgery, otology/neurotology, rhinology, allergy, skull base surgery, laryngology, pediatrics, facial plastics, and sleep medicine. In addition to practical clinical experience, the program has a strong didactic curriculum and encourages residents to engage in meaningful research.

Training Facilities

Five hospitals provide the Emory Otolaryngology residency program with diverse clinical experiences and patient populations. While these facilities have the advantage of being within a 20-minute drive of each other, our resident rotations are location-based, and residents remain at the same facility throughout the day.

Residency Structure

As residents become more familiar with outpatient management of common and complex otolaryngologic problems, they will rotate through such subspecialty programs as the Emory Voice Center; Sinus, Nasal and Allergy Center; Head & Neck; Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery; and Otology/Neurotology.
