Why Emory EM?
I chose Emory because it provides the top-notch experience that comes with working in one of the busiest trauma centers in the U.S., while also having all the resources of a top-tier academic institution. I was absolutely blown away by how passionate both the faculty and the residents are about serving the patients of Grady. The minute I finished my interview day, I knew I had found the program that I wanted to call 'home' for the next 3 years.
Interest within EM?
- EMS
- Disaster
- Event med - all things pre-hospital!
5- year plan
Graduate residency, possibly pursue EMS fellowship, and hopefully find a hybrid community-academic position! Personally, I also plan to travel all I can and spend lots of time with my new nephew.
What would you be doing if you weren’t in Emergency Medicine?
I think I would be either an academic counselor for a collegiate sports program or a Spanish teacher.
Fun Fact
Prior to starting residency, I got married, graduated medical school, and moved cities all within 10 days!
What would your superpower be?
Definitely flying or teleportation - no more traffic!
