Description
The department is committed to a climate of inclusion and equity that leverages the diversity in our community and strives to foster the academic and leadership development of women and racial, ethic, and cultural minorities who are under-represented in academic health sciences. We believe this will increase creativity, innovation, satisfaction, and productivity, ultimately enhancing the quality of care, education, and scholarship within the department. The Excellence in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Award recognizes one faculty member each year who makes tangible and consistent contributions that ensure that our department’s climate is inclusive and equitable.
