Teaching & Conferences
Our educational conferences follow a two-year curriculum and cover a diverse aspect of anatomic pathology, clinical pathology, and laboratory management. Besides didactic sessions, our program offers multiple interactive teaching sessions, including unknown slide seminars, interesting cases, frozen section, autopsy and gross conferences, which all provide an opportunity for more practical exposure to clinical material.
Journal club for AP and CP is held once a month and presented by a trainee (resident or fellow) and faculty member, providing an opportunity to review and discuss research articles critically.
General Weekly Schedule
Morning Conferences
- Monday : AP Didactic and Unknowns
- Thursday: CP Didactic, Autopsy and Gross conferences (alternating)
Noon Conferences
Tuesday: AP journal club (once a month)
Wednesday: CP interesting case conference
Friday: Clinical chemistry conference, Interesting case conference, Frozen section conference (alternating)
All conferences are available via teleconference apps for residents who are rotating off site.

Our department regularly hosts distinguished speakers from outside institutions.
Additional Conferences
Many subspecialty services and training sites provide additional educational conferences and small-group teaching sessions for residents while they rotate on a specific service. All residents prepare cases and present at the multidisciplinary tumor boards with faculty supervision.
