At the Atlanta site, the Community Advisory Board (CAB) is made up of study participants in addition to members of the community who may not be participants in MACS/WIHS CCS study. We have a focus on community engage research and actively strive for diversity, equity, inclusiveness.
Membership: Initial appointments are for two years, and appointments will continue to be reconsidered on a two-year basis. CAB meetings are held monthly. Between meetings, CAB members have the opportunity to get involved with specific research projects and community-based events throughout the year.
The CAB plays a key role in offering insight to local researchers and site staff on how to effectively reach out to their local communities; participate in local community events and act as a key liaison between the community, Community Based Organizations (CBOs), local site PI/Investigators/Staff and other key stakeholders.
