Many familiar faces are serving in new places!
New Division Administrator:
Jodi Salim, MPH
Jodi Salim was named the Administrator for the Division of Infectious Diseases,effective Friday, August 1, 2025. Jodi joined the DOM from the Infectious Diseases Clinical Research Consortium, where she served as the Administrative and Executive Director.
In her new role, Jodi will be responsible for all major division activities, including grants and contracts, clinical operations, development and administration of budgets, financial analysis, space management, and human resources management.
Jodi joins us from the Infectious Diseases Clinical Research Consortium (IDCRC), where she has served as the Administrative and Executive Director since September 2022. In this role, she has been responsible for operations and management of a large clinical trials network aimed at supporting the planning and execution of clinical research for the treatment and prevention of infectious diseases. She also oversaw the creation and execution of budgets and related subcontracts ($29M per year) for Emory University, as well as the various clinical sites participating in IDCRC trials.
Prior to this position, she held various positions within the Marcus Autism Center, part of Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, for nearly nine years, leading operations management for two of the center’s clinical programs, as well as clinical research operations, supporting nine scientific labs with an $8 million research portfolio.
We look forward to Jodi bringing a breadth of research and infectious diseases operations experience to the division.
New Division Administrator:
Emily Twa, MPH
Emily Twa stepped into the role of Administrator for the Division of Endocrinology, Metabolism, and Lipids, effective Monday, May 12, 2025. Emily joined the DOM in 2023 as the Senior Business Manager, where she supported clinic and academic activities at the division and department levels.
In her new role, Emily will be responsible for all TEC and university-based major division activities, including grants and contracts, clinical operations, development and administration of TEC and university budgets, financial analysis, space management, and human resources management.
Emily received an MPH in Healthcare Management from Emory Rollins School of Public Health in 2020. After graduating, she joined Emory Healthcare as an Administrative Fellow, where she was able to lead projects related to strategy, operations, and finance. After the fellowship, she worked as the Manager of Clinic Operations for Palliative Medicine, supporting their inpatient and outpatient operations.
Emily joined the DOM in 2023 as the department’s Senior Business Manager. In this role, she supported clinic and academic activities at the division and department levels. She also managed several initiatives, including onboarding process improvement, and strategic and operational projects for our ten divisions. She recently served as interim Administrator for Cardiology and Infectious Diseases, overseeing the divisions’ operations, finance, and research management. We are grateful for her support and leadership during a time of transition for these teams.

New Division Administrator:
Jason Van Galder, MHA
Jason Van Galder stepped into the role of Director of Operations for the Division of Hospital Medicine, effective August 18. Prior to this role, he served as the Administrator for the Division of Rheumatology
Jason brings extensive experience in healthcare operations, finance, and strategic management within Emory Healthcare. Most recently, as Administrator for the Division of Rheumatology and Immunology, he was responsible for the academic, operational, and financial oversight of a complex division spanning multiple Emory, Grady, and VA locations. Notably, he successfully managed a system project that converted Rheumatology to a hospital-based clinic, increasing division and infusion center revenue.
Prior to this, Jason served as Director of Operations at Winship Cancer Institute, where he oversaw strategy, operations, and financial management for cancer service lines, achieving 11% year-over-year growth and leading the implementation of lean daily management systems. His leadership also includes significant experience in faculty and staff onboarding, revenue cycle optimization, and strategic planning for growth and expansion initiatives.
Jason‘s expertise will be invaluable in optimizing operations and achieving strategic goals within the Division of Hospital Medicine. During his transition, he will have additional support from our DOM leadership as we also navigate the vacancy created in Rheumatology. Additional announcements will be forthcoming as we work through his onboarding to Hospital Medicine.
