Message from the Chair
On behalf of the faculty and staff in the Department of Hematology and Medical Oncology at Emory University School of Medicine, I would like to welcome you to our website.
We are fortunate to have a world-class team of clinicians, researchers, nurses and other staff who are committed to improving the diagnosis, prevention and treatment of cancers and diseases of the blood. Our department provides state-of-the-art care in a multidisciplinary team-based approach to many aspects of cancer treatment, including allogeneic and autologous stem cell and bone marrow transplantation, targeted therapeutics, combination chemotherapy, chemoprevention and immunotherapy. We care for patients with many types of cancer and blood diseases, welcoming individuals of all nationalities, races and ethnicities, regardless of economic background.
What makes our department unique from other practices, is our systems-based approaches to the diagnosis and therapy of hematology and oncology patients centered around innovation and discovery of new and better ways to treat cancer. I am very proud that our department has made seminal contributions to the tremendous progress over the years in both hematology and medical oncology.
I am grateful for the opportunity to lead such a dedicated, hard working, and highly skilled group of medical professionals and to serve Emory University as a clinical investigator, physician-scientist and educator.
Sincerely,
