Program Objectives
The goal of the Emory Hematology and Medical Oncology Fellowship Program is to train the next generation of hematologists and oncologists who are skilled in providing compassionate care to a diverse population of patients and who will be leaders in cutting-edge clinical and/or translational research.
We accomplish this by providing our fellows with:
- a range of training experiences in diverse clinical settings,
- protected time to participate in mentored- research,
- the opportunity to earn the Master of Science in Clinical Research or Certificate Program in Translational Research, and
- dedicated time for comprehensive instruction in the art and science of hematology and oncology.
Together, these experiences equip our fellows to become leaders in academic hematology/oncology research and to care for patients with a multitude of classical and malignant hematologic disorders and solid tumors.

Our program consists of two tracks, one for hematology/oncology and another focused on hematology. The combined hematology/oncology track leads to board eligibility in both. The hematology-focused track is ideal for fellows with a strong interest in an academic career in classical hematology and leads to board eligibility in hematology.
