Why Emory EM?
I wanted to be at a program that could provide me with a robust clinical, academic, and social experience that would allow me to practice anywhere in Emergency Medicine. I chose Emory EM because I believe the program does an exceptional job of accomplishing this for its residents. Also, although interviews were virtual, I sensed a genuine sense of community, camaraderie, and love among all individuals involved in the program.
Interests within EM?
- Medical Education
- Critical Care
- Social Medicine
- Global Health
- And whatever peaks my interest in residency!
5-year plan
I see myself doing a fellowship after residency. At this moment, my goal is to practice within academic medicine, so I hope to be working at an institution were I can be involved in medical student versus resident curriculum development/education. I would also like to upgrade my cooking skills, travel to some of my dream destinations, and improve my spanish fluency.
What would you be doing if you weren't in Emergency Medicine?
I would be a high school teacher or a college professor. I really enjoy teaching and mentorship, so I would probably be in a job that would allow me to do that. However, in a dream world, I would be a famous award-wining actress.
Fun Fact
I have 2 hours of flight time, and may be interested in continuing that training in the future.
What would your superpower be?
Telepathy and Telekinesis (A good mix of Jean Grey and Wanda Maximoff, but with more stability)
