Why Emory EM?
I searched for a program that would mold me into an Emergency Medicine physician, who is confident, clinically excellent, and mindful of health equity. I wanted to train at a program that is academically rigorous and equally supportive. I wanted to go to work each day feeling like I’m living my life's purpose: helping those who would otherwise go without. For so long, I’ve had to have my passions separate from studying medicine (balancing volunteering at free clinics while completing my coursework), but this is the chance to do both. Residency is tough, but I think it would be a lot easier if I felt like I was contributing to my community at large, making the world (or someone's world) a little better a little at a time. Emory (and Grady) was all of this for me.

What would you be doing if you weren't in Emergnecy Medicine?
I would be head chef and proprietor of my own restaurant. It would be named "Ate," which is a play on the past tense of eat and tagalog for older sister.
Fun Fact
I have a goldendoodle puppy named Gambino (as in Childish Gambino)! My husband and I are training him to become a certified therapy dog.
