We believe what we do here at Emory can change the world. Our programs are our commitment to creating and supporting innovation for bold changes, with ongoing funding for areas where we can make the biggest impact or that have the greatest need.
As part of this strategic planning effort, we pledge to support pilot grants for new projects, become known as an incubator for big ideas, and accelerate the transfer of research knowledge to the clinical and educational sectors where it can have a real-time impact. We've identified areas of eminence across missions and will develop targeted investment plans and enhance interprofessional education and collaborative practices.

What we’re doing
- We launched and continue to fund, promote and support the Imagine, Innovate and Impact Awards (I3 ), including a Rapid RFP for COVID-19 and a collaborative effort with the WHSC Synergy Awards and Kaiser Permanente Georgia. This internal funding is designed to promote interdisciplinary and cross-departmental and -divisional research. Since it began in 2018, I3 programs have provided 84 awards, totaling more than $4 million. The return on investment for those awards is greater than 6:1.
- Over the next five years, we will accelerate Pediatric research from bench to bedside and beyond through developments in pediatric technologies, health disparities research, sickle cell research, behavioral and mental health, cell therapies and through recruitment of game changing faculty and trainees.
