Our approach

Focusing on the what

Supporting our learners by identifying what forward thinking educational programming will support creativity and innovation and what opportunities we have to better support our learner success and well-being

Figuring out the how

Identifying how we will evaluate our programs and best deliver an educational experience that embraces connectivity and partnerships and evaluate success

Identifying the who

Promoting the growth and development of our community of educators, including faculty, residents and staff and identifying the new skills and knowledge required to empower problem solving and stimulate learner passions

Bringing it all together

Bringing it all together to identify interprofessional educational opportunities and promote a joy of practice for all within our educational community

Leadership

The strategic foundation for our Education Transformation initiative was developed through the Medical Education Strategic Planning process in 2021. Nearly 120 education thought leaders were engaged in a strategic planning process that helped to define priorities and goals for medical education.

The Education Transformation Steering Committee was made up of degree program leads, working group leads and representatives from the SOM Office of Equity and Inclusion, School of Medicine IT and our health care partners.
